Creating the Look – Scandinavian Design

With all the different styles floating around out there in the world, it can be hard to find the one that’s right for you. Sometimes what you are looking for involves loud colors and busy textures. Other times, you want to take a step back and stick with the simple side of life. If the latter sounds more appealing to you, you might be interested in Scandinavian Design.

Scandinavian Design is a trend that got its start from, you guessed it, Scandinavian countries like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland. If you’ve ever been to IKEA you might be more familiar with this style than you thought. And the wonders of cinnamon rolls.

The main focus of Scandinavian Design is finding beauty in simplicity. Functionality that looks good and works like a charm. White walls, wood floors, and modern furniture. Often times, Scandinavian Design is associated with neutral heavy color palates and clean simple lines. This style type doesn’t bother with unnecessary clutter but rather comforting simplicity.

Creating this look in your bathroom is easier than you think. In fact most bathrooms tend to lean towards Scandinavian Design because most people prefer their bath space to feel light and airy. Picking a color scheme is easy, where the difficulty may arise is finding the right furnishings. So to help take some of that stress away, we’ve complied a short list of vanities that would be flawless in a Scandinavian Design bath.

Angolo

The Angolo is practically the definition of Scandinavian Design. Clean simple lines and endless storage space. Its integrated finger pull removes the need for flashy or distracting hardware, letting the finish speak for itself. Choose a nice Cerused or Milk Oak finish and you will have a gorgeous vanity that fits seamlessly with the light and natural color palate.

Avalon

The Avalon is another textbook example of Scandinavian Design. The full overlay drawers and wall mounted design are perfectly modern and perfectly wonderful. Add some sleek Edge Pull hardware or a bold Recessed Bar Pull and top it off with a Manhattan Oak or Clear Reclaimed Oak finish and you are sure to have a Hygge compatible bath. (Throw in an Oil Can metal base if a wall mounted vanity isn’t your style for a dash of bold to break up the neutral flow and add some character.)

Riva

Much like the Avalon, the Riva is a full overlay, three drawer system that would work wonderfully with Scandinavian Design. Choose a textured finish like this grey hued Tyburn or the lighter Oregon Pine with Satin Brass hardware to really complete the look
